First off, I love Kelty products--Kelty FC 1.0 Child Carrier I had a nice Kelty backpack that I used to trek around Africa years ago. This child carrier is no different in terms of quality. It is adjustable, comfortable, and best of all, my 1 year old loves sitting in it. I never have liked strollers, and the baby bjorn was OK,Kelty FC 1.0 Child Carrier but obviously useful only for smaller kids. This backpack is great and I anticipate using it for some time, at least until my child outgrows it. Definitely recommended.Kelty FC 1.0 Child Carrier I don't know how much "better" the 2.0 or 3.0 versions are--the only real advantage I can see is that one of them comes with a sunshield, which would be nice to have.Kelty FC 1.0 Child Carrier I know you can also buy the sunshield separately...or just put a hat on your kid.

Review by someone who purchased it and uses it religiously
I've used Euro-Baby Red Castle Sport Carrier Redthis carrier for the past 5 months and absolutely love it! I live in a large city and run my errands for 4-5 hrs at a time (walking and public transportation). My 10 month old goes everywhere with me. Here are couple of pointers:
- Practice makes perfect - it might take a half a dozen trials before you find the right strap adjustment (you will know when your little one is too low). Start with the Euro-Baby Red Castle Sport Carrier Redback/shoulder straps super short and lengthen until comfortable point reached.
- Make sure your waist strap is comfortable (not too tight or lose). You should be able to fit a flat palm in between.
- As they grow- shift your little one to a preferred side while sitting - that way they sit up and "straddle" one of your legs. Great when he or she is too small for a high chair in a restaurant and you did not bring a stroller.
- Smile :) you look cool.

couldn't ask for anything more
wearing a baby, or carrying a baby in a whatever Euro-Baby Red Castle Sport Carrier Reddevice or strap or piece of inorganic or organic fabric is also suppose to be functional and comfortable. i chose Euro-Baby Red Castle Sport Carrier Redthis carrier vs others because of how the weight of a growing baby can be displaced to the hips/pelvis, vs carrying the entire weight on my back. i agree that Euro-Baby Red Castle Sport Carrier Redthe straps are a bit cumbersome, but with practice it's pretty easy, and the baby fits so nicely on one's body, with very little aches or pains after many walk and errands. my 4'11" wife even finds this carrier comfortable and not a strain on her body.

my one advice would be if it's not Euro-Baby Red Castle Sport Carrier Redthis carrier, there seems to be more carriers with straps around the waist, that help take the pressures of people's backs.

I have a Baby Bjorn and I wanted something that's more light weight. There are few steps involved in putting it on, but not too bad. However, after carrying my 7 month old facing out for only 5 minutes in it, my back started to hurt a lot. I had my husband try it too, same thing. Comparing to my Baby Bjorn, Lille Baby EveryWear Sport Carrier - Graphitethe Lille Baby seems much harder on the back. It could just be the sports model, but I decided not to try the original and just stick with my Bjorn.
